Not just a neighborhood, but a Community of Good Neighbors!
Welcome to South Shore Park!
Nestled near Lake Michigan, our neighborhood thrives on culture, history, and community spirit.

Our Mission
Empowering renters and homeowners alike to be proud of their welcoming, supportive neighborhood; and to protect their investments in it to ensure the neighborhood thrives.
Our Community
Rooted in culture, history, and neighborly spirit on Chicago’s southeast side.

Early 20th- century architecture on full display.
Many homes and buildings in the South Shore Park area of South Shore we originally fitted with concrete stanchions for holding custom-built, colorful planting boxes. Many of our neighbors today are taking full advantage of these important functional additions and bringing their homes to life with beautiful floral arrangements worth seeing in Summer!
If you are interested in having a custom planter box for your home's original stanchions or a custom created pot for your home's front stoop, please leave your information on one of the contact forms at bottom of the page and you will be contacted. Cost is based upon the size of the stanchions, and range between $75 and $250. Pots include all plants.
Our Services
Connecting neighbors through events, advocacy, and resources.
Community Events
Join block parties, cleanups, and gatherings that bring neighbors together. Work with us to coordinate your block party or neighborhood event.
Advocacy
Empowering renters and homeowners to have a strong community voice.
What changes would you like to see happen in the neighborhood? Are you interested in being a communicator on behalf of the neighborhood? Are you good at creating newsletters? Do you have or want experience speaking at City Council meetings and other public service venues in advocacy of your community?
Working to improve our neighborhood’s safety, parks, and amenities.
Wanna learn how to garden? What about growing beautiful flowering pots on your deck or patio? Lawn care?
Are you one of our elderly neighbors or hard-working neighbors with very limited time, and need assistance keeping your yard as nice as you would like? We have young citizens in our neighborhood who would like to make a little extra money over the summer, and would possibly be able to have a working relationship with you! Who knows, it may even be beneficial for winter snow removal!
Coordinate with neighbors on your block to perform a cleaning sweep of your street, yards, and alleys to eliminate risks of basement flooding due to clogged drains. The appearance and attractiveness of the neighborhood begins with you...whether you own or rent. While you're at it, please join the Rosenblum Park Advisory Council and make your park safer through increased engagement!
This summer, let's plan a day (or 7) of the week where everyone can spend some time in their front yards and fellowship with their neighbors! For those who may be renters in multifamily dwellings, we welcome you! Please be a part of the family!
